LED lights are replacing incandescent, halogen and CFL lights in many places largely because of their brighter output at relatively low power consumption. In fact, 5W LED lights seem to provide an output of around 200 - 400 lumens in brightness which is extremely impressive. Available mostly in red, blue, amber, green and white colors, these lights find uses in many different places. This is mainly owing to their low energy consumption that reduces the cost to a great extent. There are other reasons for their popularity too, for example, a long lifespan in excess of 50,000 hours and great reliability. LED lights don’t burn out abruptly unlike other forms of lighting.

The versatility of LED lights permits their usage in many places where other forms of lighting cannot be used. For example, LED modules are installed on the roofs of emergency vehicles. Sometimes multiple modules with different colors of LEDs are mounted on the vehicles to attract the attention of everyone around. These modules can be individually controlled when it comes to their flash pattern or intensity of light. It is ...
... possible to use a pattern control mechanism which will allow you to quickly scan the built-in flash patterns available with these lights and lock the one that is required. Some LED circuits even have non-volatile memory where information about the last used flash pattern is saved. It is possible to get triple or quad flash LED lights for emergency vehicles.

LED lights are also used for garden decoration, both indoor and outdoor. The colorful LEDs complement the beauty of various exotic indoor and outdoor plants. Sometimes, LEDs are installed to add glow to beautifully cut or shaped bushes and shrubs in the garden. The mercury-free LEDs which are safe for usage can be used to light up the driveways, by installing them on either side of the path. They can be installed near artificial fountains or around the pool as well to create a play of colors or provide just a cool source of lighting for barbeque parties and get-togethers. Hotels and resorts commonly put to use the decorative benefits of LED lighting for public spaces, lobbies, pool decks and terraces.

LED lights, because of their low energy consumption, can be used for the beautification of houses. You can install them in wall sconces, in wooden panels or on the edges of stairs and railings. Display cabinets and shelves, especially those with rich staining or finish will benefit from the appropriate installation of LED light bars. Apart from low energy consumption, these lights also provide the added benefit of low beam temperature which is not the case with other sources of light. Therefore, you can use these lights inside your house or in the gardens without worrying about the temperature. LED strobe lights are used in discotheques as well where colored filters are used to create beams in myriad colors that can be flashed at varying rates depending upon the overall mood in the ambience.
