When students appear in the management entrance exams, either in national level or for the individual colleges, their aim is to secure a rank in the exam, thereby getting into a seat. It usually happens that the students appear in the exams and get into the specific colleges for which the exam is conducted.

Nowadays, students are having a good time regarding the entrance exams and the subsequent admissions. This is because, by the help of a single entrance, they are getting options to take admissions in various other colleges, apart from those colleges which are conducting the exams. Such institutes and colleges are categorised under the name of the entrance exam such as the CAT colleges, MAT colleges and XAT colleges.

CAT exam is conducted for admissions into the Indian Institutes of Management in different areas of India. Apart from admissions into these colleges, qualifying in CAT exams also helps people in getting into other management institutes which have been certified under the Common Admission Test. This means, that the students are required to appear in one test and then apply with that particular CAT ...

Due to this trend, students are not required to appear for individual entrance exams, which would obviously be a benefit in terms of timing as well as finance. Students can also get into the management colleges after appearing in the MAT entrance exam. This particular exam is Management Aptitude Test which is conducted in the all India level. Some of the notable colleges included under the list of MAT colleges are Disha Institute of Advanced Studies in Delhi, NSHM Knowledge Campus in Kolkata, Jaipuria Institute of Management in Lucknow, Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Maangement and Research in Kanpur, BLS Institute of Management in Gaziabad, etc.

There are many more MAT colleges in the list, thereby giving the options to the management aspirants to pursue their courses in the institute of their choice. Similarly, many colleges all over the country are included under XAT colleges, where XAT is a test conducted for admissions in the 4 primary colleges of XIMB, XLRI XMIR and XISS. Apart from these colleges, the students can take admissions in a number of management colleges such as SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mudra Institute of Management, Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Studies, Indian Institute of Finance, and many more.

Most of these colleges even take admissions from the common tests of CAT, XAT and even MAT. Sometimes, the students appear in any one of these exams and take admissions in the CAT colleges, MAT colleges and XAT colleges, many of which are common to the three entrance exams. Students who aspire to study management have these three basic tests to appear.

Besides, there are many other tests that can be taken up by the students for admissions into the individual colleges. But such options are not exercised by many students as they find the common entrance tests easy and convenient. It is because of the facilities that the students can avail of, that a large number of colleges are included in these single entrance exams. And this concept has worked to a large extent for the students.
