First, it may be superfluous words to say that fierce excises are bad especially just after dinner. We all know that it is not only uncomfortable to do fierce excises after dinner, but also it can be harmful to our digestion system. On the other side, sitting quietly or lying on bed also are not advised. The best thing we do after dinner is walking, yes, just walking slowly.

Second, don’t drink much water after dinner. Drinking water at right after dinner can increase the pressure within stomach, which can push the undigested food into the small intestine. Otherwise, water can dilute the gastric juice and then weaken the digestion ability of stomach. On the other side, the diluted gastric juice cannot kill some germs, which may lead to some diseases of digestive system. Soda water is even worse than the normal water. Therefore, some drinks such as cola are not advised to drink after dinner.

Third, don’t have fruits at right after dinner. Especially if you eat some vegetables in the dinner, you are strongly advised not to eat fruits after dinner. There is something called thiocyanate in vegetables, while fruits ...
... contain a kind of chemical substance called flavonoids, which can be changed into protocatechuic acid with the effect of the germs in the intestinal tract. Thiocyanate and protocatechuic together would lead to chemical reaction and then lead to non-iodine goiter.

Forth, don’t have tea at right after dinner. The tannin in the tea can be combined with the protein and iron elements in foods, which can produce not easily absorbed colloid or sediments. For a long time, it may lead to iron-deficiency anemia and protein deficiency.

Fifth, don’t smoke at right after dinner. After dinner, the peristole and blood circulation would speed up and the capillary vessel would extend, which can make your stomach absorb more hazardous substances. It is reported that you would absorb ten times the hazardous substances as the normal if you smoke at right after dinner.
