How To Find Federal Rfp/rfqs

If you are a small business with under $1M in annual revenue you are eligible to bid on Federal Contracts that have been set aside form SDB (Small, Disadvantaged Businesses). Unfortunately as a small business you may not have the budget to try and find out where to bid on these opportunities from. There are several inexpensive and even some free websites that are out there that can help you find out what's out there faster!

First and foremost, the United States Federal Government posts all opportunities valued greater than $25k on their own website. Check out http://www.fbo.gov

This website is a great first start. As all agencies are required to publish their requests for proposal here you will never miss anything. The problem with this website though is that it is hard to perform searches to find out opportunities on what you can bid on. vOfficeware, Inc has released a completely free tool to help search and filter on the RFPs and RFQs that are posted at this website. Check out http://fedopps.vofficeware.com The site is almost as easy as google to use. There is no need to sign up, give a credit card, ...
... or anything! Simply type in what you are looking for and FedOpps will scan the FBO.gov website for any recent postings containing your search terms.

FedOpps.vOfficeware.com was developed against its main competition Fed Opps. Fed Opps provides similiar information at the fee of $10/month. Fed Opps would be a better solution for those who have a bit more to spend. The benefit is you can make more streamlined searches as well as apply for notifications by email with opportunities come out.

If you can spend a minute of your time per day searching http://FedOpps.Vofficeware.com you can save yourself $10. Neither FedOpps.vofficeware.com or Fed Opps proper provide searching into State and Local government contracts. There are a ton of websites out there that specialize in that, however I have not been able to find any that are 100% free like the vOfficeware solution.
