One of the most highly successful models in recent years has been the Samsung Galaxy S2, which has created new records within a few months of its introduction. However, this is a phone that is currently positioned as the flagship model of the company, which certainly limits the area of effect. The Samsung Galaxy R is a phone that is looking to expand the reach of this incredible phone in the segments just below it. However, it can be done only by eliminating some of the features of the phone. It could be a work that could be disastrous, but it seems that Samsung has eliminated the right features in order to make the Samsung Galaxy R look extremely brilliant.

It is estimated that the AMOLED technology is more than 20 percentage expensive than the equivalent LCD unit, which is clearly the reasoning behind the Samsung Galaxy R offering the Super Clear LCD technology. The display, however, comes with the same resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

This makes the Samsung Galaxy R quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy S2 in terms of the amount of entertainment that it can provide to a user. The internal memory may have been limited to just 8 GB, but the presence of the 32 GB support ensures that the entertainment capability remains within the Samsung Galaxy R. The Samsung Galaxy R provides a five megapixel camera, which has also been reduced from the eight megapixel unit. However, these all reductions that you can certainly live with, and one area where it will be particularly difficult to deal with is the processor department. This is because the Samsung Galaxy R offers the Android 2.3.3 operating system, which demands a lot of processing power to say the least.

Hence, the Samsung Galaxy R comes with the 1 GHz dual core processor in the heart of the phone, thus becoming the first phone in the segment to offer this processor. In addition to this extremely powerful processor, the Samsung Galaxy R also provides 1 GB of RAM, which is incidentally similar to the specifications present in the Samsung Galaxy S2. As a result, the Samsung Galaxy R is not too different from the Samsung Galaxy S2 in terms of performance. The Samsung Galaxy R, though, will be significantly lower in price in comparison with the Samsung Galaxy S2, which is exactly what the company set out to achieve.
