Part One of this article taught us that Desire = Discipline. We found that a persons true desire is only as great as the amount of discipline they are willing to put forth in order to achieve their desire.

It is simple for someone to say, I desire to have a home-based business. Anyone can say those words. Anyone can have that wish, but it is only the individual who is willing to be disciplined, doing what is necessary to actually create a home-based business, that TRULY has an authentic desire.

So, why do we need to learn about focus? Focus is the difference between spending your time and discipline on wise actions or on unwise ones. Focus can be the difference between wasting your time and being extremely productive with your time.

Focus allows a person to consider every action against the stated objective. You should ask yourself this question at any given moment: Is what Im doing moving me closer to my desire? If you can answer yes, then ask yourself the second question: Is what I am involved in right now moving me towards my goal quicker than anything else I could be doing?

Focus ...
... will keep you from wasting discipline. It is the difference between running in place and actually winning the race. Focus can make a difference in whether you find only partial or complete success. It is the difference between taking the scenic route and traveling the most direct route possible.

Even though this is not a difficult concept to grasp, it is very hard to live with this kind of focus. In order to focus on our desire, we need to honestly evaluate our actions and the reasons behind what we are doing. We need to be diligent in asking the focus question about everything we do. We must be honest about the authenticity of our desire is it evidenced by our discipline and controlled focus or is our desire just meant to impress others?

Remember, a true desire is only as true as the amount of discipline you are willing to employ to achieve that desire. Your discipline his most productive and effective when it is laser focused. To focus means to evaluate every task and effort to see if it is taking you one step closer to the desire at the fastest possible rate.
