The history of inculcating formal technical education in India started in the 19th century although it got momentum in 20th century with the onset of Constitution of Technical Education Committee of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE). After India achieved Independence in the year 1947, the head-start of technical education emerged as a major concern for the Indian Government in order to face upcoming challenges and bring the country ahead.
India was earlier known for yoga, meditation and sacred places, but now is ready for software engineers.
Therefore, to maintain the standard of technical education throughout the country, authority of law, or the All-India Council of Technical Education was founded in 1945. AICTE is known for planning, design and maintain similar standards through accreditation, funding in particular colleges, monitoring and evaluation, as well as awards in order to determine the coordination of the management of technical education in India.
