The Salimgarh fort was built by Islam Shah Suri in the year 1546. Earlier, it was planned that the Salimgarh fort would be connected to the Red Fort with the help of a bridge known as the Bahadur Shah Zafar Gate, but the Britishers did not allow this happen. It is believed that the Emperor Humayun used to stay here during the war when he tried to capture the control of Delhi. Red Fort: This famous fort is also known as the “Lal Qila”. It was built by Shah Jahan, a Mughal Emperor. On the 15th August of every year, the Prime Minister of India hosts the national flag in the fond memory of martyrs who sacrificed their rule to free India from the British Rules.

Jama Masjid: It lies at the distance of 500 m towards the west direction of Red Fort. The Jama Masjid is the biggest mosque in the country. It took more than 6 years for the architect Ustad Khalil to complete the construction of this mosque.

St. James Church: The famous architect of the 19th century, Colonel James Skinner developed the design of this mosque in the form of Greek cross. He built this Church to thank the Lord to save his life from the injuries in the war of 1857.

Dara Shikoh Library: The son of Shah Jahan and his successor Dara Shikoh were responsible for the building of this library. It was built to create the awareness among the people about the progress made by the ruler in the war. However, this building was damage during the time when the war of 1857 was going on and a large number of books were stolen from here.

Rajghat: This was built in the fond memory of Mahatma Gandhi.
