Americans name those heavy quilts on top of the bed as ‘comforters.’ On the other hand, 'duvet' is the English term for it. The French might even have a term for it and it's 'couette'. These are the names for a quilt without the tradtion colors, and shapes and entire design. But instead, they are thick pieces of cloth which may be used as blankets for warming. Usually, the proper way to use them is by placing them underneath the bed sheet covers. This way, the couette will stay clean but not damaged due to excessive washing.

They are made from different kinds of materials that don't need thorough care, plus it is soft to the skin as cotton. However, with the help of the latest technology, they may also be created from organic materials which can be costly. On the other hand, polyester-made quilts are quite more reasonably priced. The stitching patterns are like the quilt's pattern which as a whole becomes a great material pleasant to look at and capable in keeping someone warm.

Commonly, it is available in white for they are placed within sheets, however more colors are made available but not with prints and picture designs. The couette will not become the thing that it is if it weren't for the blank color it possesses; instead will probably be more of a comforter.
