Healthy Fat Loss, Healthy Body
The tabloids are rife with stories of one celebrity or another losing vast amounts of weight through some supposed miracle diet that starved them, but also left them lean for a photo shoot or a movie. The most surprising lesson to be taken away from these magazines is not the fact that the celebrity succeeded by losing the weight in the time allotted but that the weight was loss in such an incredibly unhealthy manner. Further, I have never heard of any of these weight loss miracles being responsible for any loss of health by any participant receiving these miracles. We never hear that side of the stories.
Only One You In Body, Not Two
"Why," might you ask, "is it so bad to lose weight quickly? Isn't it better to get it out of the way so I can go back to eating what I want?" The answer is that the body can only change so much in any given time without suffering, this has been seen time and again in users of steroids, those with thyroid conditions, and those that lose drastic amounts of weight only to regain it.
When you decide to push past the recommended 2.0- 2.5 lbs a week of fat loss recommended by ...
... nutritionists and dieticians, your body begins to burn an inordinate amount of muscle along with the fat. While it is true that almost every fat loss results in a small amount of muscle loss, losing considerable amounts from starvation level caloric intake exceeds the body's ability to use fat as a source of fuel, and causes the other mechanisms for survival to kick in, which will result in burning precious muscle in an attempt to stay alive.
Muscle Is Our Shield From Poor Health
Losing muscle is the antithesis of poor health. To be healthy you need all the muscle you can get through natural means, as it not only protects against physical trauma, but is also the bulwark against metabolic diseases that are the hallmarks of modern, industrial culture.
Muscle provides assistance with the insulin sensitivity that prevents the body from falling into insulin related illness, such as diabetes. Having a healthy amount of muscle, that you challenge regularly aids considerably in preventing all the inflammatory illnesses related to uncontrolled blood sugar. Heart disease, strokes, high blood pressure, and poor circulation are stymied by a capable exercise plan that challenges and builds muscle.
Day To Day Healthy Living
"Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out. "
-Anton Chekhov
If you can't lose fat quickly, and muscle is too important to lose, and should be gained and maintained, how can anyone ever get to the body they want? The answer lies in consistency or performing small changes that result in large long term results and must be performed consistently.
Consider 150 calories, or the amount in one can of soda. Taking out 150 calories from your day to day eating habits, if you are eating just enough to burn as much as you take in, or basal metabolic rate for maintaining basic metabolic function, can result in a fat loss of about 1 and a 1/3 pounds of fat in a month.
It's making tiny changes like this, while exercising in a way to promote muscle growth that results in constant healthy fat loss, and in turn, a constantly healthy body.
The Slowly But Surely Solution for a Weight-Healthy You book has been written for anyone in search of a future where their weight is not consistently a primary issue. Slow Weight Loss is the primary goal which simply translates to healthy weight loss. For more information, please visit the website.http://www.slowlybutsurelysolution.com
