"When a student transfers from a typical high school, they sometimes have missing credits from where there are holes in their education, but high school credit recovery offers them a simple way to fill those holes. Many boarding schools receive students who come from troubled backgrounds or other situations that forced them to forego large portions of their education, so the these schools keep systems in place to help them make up for lost time and get their education back on track.

The reason for a student to be missing their credits can be any number of things, such as coming from a broken home where school was not taken seriously or having a parent that moved a lot for their career. It doesn't matter if the student had to miss their credit hours because they didn't get to be at school enough to make up the attendance or because they weren't able to complete a course with sufficient grades, it is not typically something the student could help. Instead of holding it against the student and making them start from scratch, many boarding schools will give them the chance they deserve and help them make it up.

... school credit recovery is a program that is designed to help students go back through all the courses that they are lacking credits in. There will be no reason for the students to take full academic years worth of courses, either, because the makeup courses are much shorter, allowing many to be taken per semester.

Boarding schools are known for having a curriculum that is generally much harder than the average public institute, so they also like to provide their transfer students with a chance to improve their previous scores and get more accustomed to their new learning level. By making up their lost credits or retaking the courses that they did less than satisfactorily in, they will have a greater chance of remaining on the same academic level as their peers.

Being able to catch up and reclaim your proper place in your personal academic pursuit is incredibly important to most students, especially when graduation day is getting nearer. Once a student makes up every one of their missing credits, they will be able to graduate with the rest of their class and go on to seek a higher education at a major university. By being able to make up for previous mistakes and get one of the best educations out there, a student who was once falling behind will be able to get much farther ahead. "
