Ways To Manage Motivation At Work

"One of the inactive tactics we could possibly do to our employees these days is use methods like, "the carrot and the stick." Motivation is key for several different things in life, at least for those things that involve pushing people toward attaining something bigger than them, including teachers and teaching, employers and their employees, among other things. Motivation is something that can be found through many different methods and can make wonderful changes for those who utilize it effectively.
I recently was introduced to a You Tube video that put everything into perspective for me. This video has sketches that re-enact the different ways that motivation can be used. The video, "RSA Animate - Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us" explains the scientific findings that suggest that if you want to keep your more innovative employees motivated, you'll have to get rid of the "carrot and the stick" method of doing so.
By giving incentives through the workplace, employees were expected to perform at their best with old motivation techniques. Perform a duty and you'll get something in ...
... return. What studies suggested is that better results were not had when an incentive was present. In fact, results had a propensity to go down! How come several people can work for nothing and give substantially higher results in motivation?
Well, the video explains that people desire three things when having to be innovative. Being your own boss are one of these things. Motivation is upheld by the wish to know more about something and become an expert. Entering into something that makes them feel good about themselves is also a great reason. Some corporations that are focused on monetarily free motivation are places like Wikipedia, Lenux, and Apache.
Just recently, I came by a company called Executive Success Programs. Keith Raniere who started the company understands precisely what it takes to get people motivated and has built is organization on this thought. Making this system was as simple as determining the things people would need to succeed through things like motivational skills.
Is it possible that we can improve the quality of our corporate world through motivation? Are these new methods and ideas a more permanent way of solving the issue of an unmotivated society? Could it be that as more and more people turn to coaching programs like Executive Success Programs, the future of technology and innovation could see significant changes? I am optimistic at what the future holds, and pray that employers, and individuals, seek to boost their motivation in whatever methods work for them."
