"When mylongtime got into grad school in Massachusetts, I couldn't have been happier. It was one of the top graduate schools in the country for photography. She had spent four long years getting ready for the school. Talk about super excited and nervous! We were both crazy with excitement when word came that she had been selected for an interview. The big issue was being able to afford the trip which was just another worry on top of worrying about the actual interview. Driving was out of the question because it would take so long and neither of us had the time off available for that from work. We ended up pooling our money and decided to ask friends about ways to stretch the money to afford the trip. The answer was the same. The close hotel was important since we didn't know the area of Boston and were worried about losing our way on public transit. Showing up late to the most important interview of her life would not be good for my girlfriend.

We made it to our hotel a day early for the interview. We took a walk that night just to make sure we knew exactly how to get to the school. Our advanced planning worked out perfectly and we were incredibly close to the school. We celebrated together right after her perfect interview and I was so relieved I had arranged to be there with her. The official word from the school didn't come until much later, but she knew that same day that she had had a great interview.

Just six people are accepted to the program per year. As lucky as she was to be one of the six, I am even luckier to be a part of her life. Knowing the best way to book my travel has allowed me to go visit her several times every year. Even though we don't know where we'll end up after she graduates, we do know that traveling isn't nearly as expensive as we once thought."
