Often the pain that people feel when they suffer from any kind of back problem will be usually situated in the lower part of the back. Many of the treatments for back pain that people will use are intended to help reduce the pain being felt as well as reduce the inflammation to the area. There are many different types of back pain medications that doctors may use and they prefer to use those which are known as non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs such as Aspirin.

The main role of any NSAID is to help reduce the inflammation that has been caused by back pain. NSAID helps to reduce the amount of cyclooygenase that the body is able to produce. It is this enzyme which produces prostaglandin and which can cause the inflammation to the area which is painful, plus it helps to make our nerve endings (nociceptors) much more sensitive to pain as well.

It is important that you advise your doctor of any side effects you may be suffering from whilst taking such medication and you should use no other forms of treatment unless their doctor has advised them to do so.
