Care is all that an autistic child demands. Along with children diagnosed with autism, parents of those children also require support and orientation regarding the various therapies, developed by the professionals only for such children, to help them recover and lead a normal life.

Autism may be caused by a range of factors including genetic factors, problems at birth and certain types of infection may be due to environmental factors, but research is still ongoing with respect to this, since it is not exactly known how and what causes autism. A wide range of therapies are adopted to rectify the problems caused due to autism in a child. Autism affects a child even before he/she is 3years of age. Children usually cut down them self from social interactions, don’t make direct eye contacts, face problems while interacting i.e. while speaking, mentally are not that strong to accept education like other children of their age can and be academically strong.

The biomedical approaches and Chelating therapy have proved advantageous in many cases. As it’s said, that some treatment is better than no treatment at all, especially regarding this issue, as the cause and medication for the same is not known yet. Since the methodological quality of treatment has generally not shown positive results as medications can have adverse effects, the clinical results are mostly accepted as tentative.

Various other treatments include sensory integration, social skill intervention and speech and language therapy, which have by far shown relative effectiveness in comparison to other treatment options. With this particular treatment children of younger ages are studied well, how they react to varied things and situations and by helping them improve their speech related issues their communication level increases and allows them to be able to interact through speech as well, along with movements of their hands and legs to communicate with others. The social skills therapy, would teach them how to react to other people when they approach them. With the help of this therapy, autistic children would be able to relate to their surroundings and would not get hyperactive and turn violent, when they see many people around them.

These children are kept on special diet, and, are fed with required vitamins and other supplements needed for the growth of their brain and in the proper functioning of other mechanisms in their body, to be able to develop as a normal human being and lead a normal life.
