Not just children having such disorder need support and guidance, even their parents do need the right kind of orientation to accept the truth and find solutions for it.

Down syndrome is a chromosomal condition in a body of a child and is recognized in the early stages of their growing period or can be detected when the child is present in the mother’s womb itself. Various physical characteristics develop gradually, that helps the parents recognize the disorder present in their child. Some or all the physical characteristics that develop in a down syndrome individual are, an abnormal chin, an unusually round face, protruding or oversized tongue, almond shaped eyes, up slanting fissures i.e. the separation between the upper and lower eyelids, have shorter limbs, a single instead of a double crease across one or both palms, poor muscle strength and a larger than normal space between the big and second toes.

Individuals having, down syndrome have to take good care of their health as they may have to go through major health issues that include high risk for congenital heart problems which would lead to pumping of heart at longer intervals, ear infections which may lead to hearing loss, obstructive sleep issues leading to fatigue, dizziness and tiredness, and, even major thyroid problems. Most individuals with Down syndrome were admitted in institutions, where they treat such disabilities with lot of care and with methodological treatment, meant for only such individuals and were bestowed with personal guardian. Unfortunately, in the beginning of the 20th century, few of the associated medical problems were treated with certain medications, and most died in infancy or during early adult life, since their body could not accept the medications provided. After which precision research was done, regarding this disability and what causes the physical changes that happen only to Down syndrome individuals.
