Correct Disposal Of Toner In Dfw Area

There are many DFW Printers because the printing business is good around here in the area. And because of that, there are also many companies that use photocopiers and laser printers among the printing shops. And this does not include those individuals that have their own printer units at home.
All in all, the people and commercial printing businesses in the area of DFW use a lot of toners. That only means that they also have a lot of empty toner cartridges around that could end up in landfills if they are not disposed properly.
Toners are made up mostly of hard plastic. So that means they are not biodegradable. If they are thrown away with all the rest of the trash, they will just end up piling in the landfill. But if you participate in recycling efforts, these cartridges could still be restored and reused. That is why it may be the easiest thing to do to just throw old toners in the trash, think again. Being a conscientious citizen, you will take part in the effort to recycle. And you might even make some money out of it. You can just be thankful that if you ...
... are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, you have a lot of convenient and free choices in order to recycle your old cartridges.
Two of the paying places where you can get rebates for your empty toners are Staples and Office Depot. You can be thankful that in Dallas, there are three branches of Staples within the city, in about a 10-mile radius. You can bring to as much as 10 units of cartridges per month and get a $2-rebate for each one.
At the Office Depot, they give a higher pay and the limit is also higher. You can bring up to 20 empty toner cartridges at any of their branch per month and get a $3 on each unit. Plus, there are 10 Office Depot branches all over the city of Dallas, all within a 12-mile radius of the city.
So all in all, within the city of Dallas, there are 13 branches where you can leave your empty toners and get a rebate. This is already very convenient and strategic because there is always a recycling branch nearest you. But of course, you don’t have to go there every time your cartridge runs out of powder. You can always wait until you have several before turning them over. That way, you will be getting a lump sum for the rebates.
Additionally, if you care about the environment but do not necessarily want to earn extra cash, you can just give your toner cartridges as well as your other hazardous wastes at the Dallas County Home Chemical Collection Center. You will have just to prove that you are resident of the country by presenting a driver's license and a utility bill.
You can also check out Earth911. They have a listing of the recycling programs in the DFW area, whether for toners or other things. You will learn a lot from that site.
DFW printers are so fortunate that they have these recycling services in the area. Dallas printers should take advantage of these so that they can also help the environment while at the same time make some bucks. Although it is not much, but at least, that is still money.
