They are able to retain the right amount of moisture, but unless they have been labeled with the UV sign, they might crack or fade due to the weather conditions. In order to avoid such situations you should place them in a sturdier container.

Since the metal gardening pots may rust or can get very hot if left outside, they are the most suitable for indoor garden, with a plastic pot inside. It is also wise to place a plastic pot inside a wooden pot.
