Secret Of The Nagas Makes Waves In Book-frenzy India
For an IIM graduate, writing on the subject of mythology could be a daunting task. But for Amish Tripathi, whose The Immortals of Meluha is already a hit in a book-frenzy nation, and The Secret of the Nagas, a recently released sequel of Meluha, writing comes naturally. The banker-turned-writer has a flair and fervor for pen, and has now discontinued his association with finance and tied the bond with mythology & literature whole-heartedly, especially after the success of Meluha.
The story of The Immortals of Meluha kicks start with the King Daksha of Meluha asks tribes to make Meluha as their home; one such tribe is headed by Shiva. Locals of Meluha soon identified Shiva as their messiah and called him Neelkanth, as he had consumed poison which made his throat blue (Neel). Shiva made up his mind to fight against the war of Chandravanshis, who became a strong tribe after having a treaty with a cursed tribe – Nagas. In this development, Shiva gets to know that his choices showed who he wants to be.
In Secret of the Nagas, ...
... the next order of the Shiva Trilogy after Meluha, begins with Shiva’s search for the Naga, who killed his close companion Brahaspati. In search of the Naga, who maliciously harbor an intention to kill Sati, Brahaspati’s wife, Shiva walks down to India’s major river networks, looking for conspirators and seeking partnerships in his battle against evil. During his journey to destroy the evil, Shiva experienced that it is difficult to trample evil, which, sometimes grow to be more powerful than the good. Moreover, in his odyssey, no one is friend & no one is foe – today’s friends may stand as tomorrow’s enemies.
Shiva’s journey takes him to the every nook and corner of Swadweep, and to the Brangas and in the darkest Dandak forest. Shiva finds that what appears is just Maya (illusion), and he has been groping around the dark shadows till the time.
The Secret of the Nagas book grips readers till the last page as they are faced with lot of suspense towards the end. Shiva’s enemies seem to have an edge over him in every brush, and therefore, the apprehension of Shiva’s success does not allow readers to put the book aside. Moreover, Shiva came to know that evil does not lie within Chandravanshis, and surprisingly, Suryavanshis also surfaced as a good group. To know the end, one has to read the complete novel The Secret of the Nagas.
Amish Tripathi upcoming book The Oath of the Vayuputras is also likely to be a super hit and may be released in the end of 2011 or in the beginning of 2012. Just wait and watch, and read also.
