It’s quite common in our life that we are rejected. For instance, we may be rejected when applying for a job, making a marriage proposal or asking the boss for a pay raise. Although any kind of rejection is hard to bear, we surely can get benefits from it. Dealing with difficulties can make us grow as people; bring us more peace rather than more pain.

Sometimes people may become inactive and begin to procrastinate. Think about this, do you lose anything by getting rejected? Keep in mind that it can be destructive only if we internalize it and permit it to go through our belief system. Well to really get something new, you should take action. Don’t be afraid of rejection and start to do those things that you dare not to do in the past. Doing nothing can be the stupidest choice, someone even label themselves with labels such as a "loser" or "failure" and then end up with depression.

Never, never believe that your worth or value is determined solely by the opinion of others. We learned to measure our self worth based on the acceptance of others and thus we gave them the keys to our mood. But as we grow older, ...
... we should form our own values and outlook on life. We are rejected, it is the truth, may be the timing simply wasn't right; maybe we can get the better one.

Then how can we deal with rejection? Keep it in mind that a rejection is nothing more than a necessary step in the pursuit of success. Well, you can sit around with a gallon of ice cream, wondering where you went wrong. Being honest with yourself about your own emotions is important; just let yourself feel without judging. It is also important to know yourself. Know your weaknesses and maintain your sense of humor, your open perspective and your bubbling confidence.

Treat yourself like a treasure that has yet to be discovered. Carry yourself with your head held high. Banish all thoughts of your former relationship. Smile easily at people wherever you go. When you are completely yourself, you'll attract people who like you for you and you'll be much, much happier. Try to be happy and avoid depression.

You may not notice that depression is sometimes associated with rejection. The main reason some people become depressed after being rejected is that they don't take actions to neutralize the effect of this rejection. Now, take the above tips into action, don’t blame yourself, see things from another aspect, know yourself and change for the better. Don’t live in others’ eyes, just be yourself, it’s the key.
