Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) was another enterprise constantly mining coals in the state. State government had some of its own industries like Sugar Factory at Aska, Orissa Textile Mills, Paradeep Phosphates Limited, and such others. Naturally the number of Orissa tenders started increasing with rapid industrialization in the state. With information technology already making rapid strides in the state the number of scanning tenders also started rising.
