There is always a sense of urgency in every move they make. Each step they take is quick but well calculated and time holds great value for them. The siren highlights the importance of the task to be attended helping them reach out to people on time.

At the very inception, sirens were only meant to be musical instruments with a difference. But this difference gave them an edge over the others. Today, they have evolved into more sophisticated sirens that are mainly used by siren police apart from fire trucks and ambulances. Siren was invented John Robinson. It was a musical instrument made form hollow bamboo. The modern day sirens are generally of two kinds - pneumatic sirens and electronic sirens. The siren police use the electronic version which is more sophisticated in its functioning. The sirens ensure that the police find minimum obstruction even in cases where there is excessive traffic. The vehicles automatically clear the way to enable the police find their way each time they hear the sirens.

The siren police use devices which are simple but sophisticated. The sirens used usually contain ...
... two tubular cylinders. The inner cylinder has slots that run along the length of the tube whereas the outer cylinder contains perforations. The design is such that the inner cylinder spins to produce the loud sound that we hear from the sirens. There are different ways in which we can control the spinning of the inner cylinder. In some cases, it is done manually by moving certain gears that triggers the motion of the cylinder. In yet other cases, electronic motors are used for this purpose. Whatever be the case, the sirens are easy to operate.

There is no denying that police can function efficiently only because the sirens help them with their duty in emergency situations. The electronic sirens are used in most of the cases. This is because the mechanical sirens did a good job of alerting people about the siren police, but for this to happen, one police would be moving the handle continuously to sound the siren while the other would drive. The electronic siren, on the other hand, does not require any manual intervention. The internal circuit is designed such that the electrical frequency generated is simply amplified before being fed into the speakers. The mechanism is far more simple and reliable too.

There are many innovative solutions still finding their way into this world with LED lights gaining prominence in the functioning of sirens. The main aim of every innovative idea is to facilitate the siren police in handling their jobs efficiently. The solutions are also aimed at being cost effective and reliable. Even the small steps taken towards finding cost effective and innovative ideas in sirens can hence mean a lot to the police.
