For every student in a college or university, it is important that they educate themselves to finally fit into a job profile. For this to happen, there has to be job oriented courses in the institutes, where the students can take admissions, prepare themselves and finally get into a job, either through campus recruitment or walk in.

But, the prospects in many streams are not as bright as it is in the software and engineering subjects. And this is the reason why so many students are nowadays going for the courses of engineering, information technology, computer science, computer applications and the like. Colleges and universities across India are opening their doors for the seats in these subjects.

Most of these colleges have allotted the largest number of seats to these streams, which implies that students from the computer science branches are passing out in maximum numbers. The impetus for opening of such a high number of colleges and distribution of seats in the subjects and the students going for admissions in these branches, all of it is provided by the prospects of engineering and software jobs.

Since ...
... a decade now, IT related jobs have been taking up students from these streams. Most of the time, the number of students for the jobs is lesser than the number of posts. There is a requirement of students with knowledge of computers or computer engineering background to cover for these software jobs. With more number of seats in the engineering colleges, such posts are being filled up by computer engineering students. Most of these jobs were being offered by the multinational companies and the big names in the country itself.

But in recent years, IT work is also being started by new firms and organisations, thus adding further to the number of software jobs that are there for the taking of the students. These students are therefore finding sufficient number of jobs when they are passing out of the colleges. In the coming years, the trend is going to take a sharp turn northwards, so that the number of students required will be more.

With the companies using information technology and computers in more numbers, the demand for the IT related jobs will increase. These are logical conclusions as well as evidence based conclusions, which have been forwarded and corroborated by various surveys done all across the world. As the liberalisation of foreign company policies are also being changed to allow more multinational companies to open their branches and offices in India, students from India will be benefited by having job offers from such companies.

Indigenous companies are also growing and learning the trick of the trade with respect to IT and related subjects. They are increasingly recruiting students from the various engineering colleges to work in the software jobs. Software engineers, consultants, system supervisors, system analysts, etc are some of the hot jobs in the computer sector that are being heard nowadays. To accommodate the functionalities of such companies, many more posts will be created in the long run. Students who are going for the computer engineering branches are sure to benefit from this surge, as they are assured of jobs and that too with good pay packets.
