A Memorable Visit To Jaipur – The Pink City Of India
Last month I got the opportunity to visit Jaipur – the Pink City of India. Jaipur is the capital and largest city of Indian state of Rajasthan. This beautiful city is renowned as pink city because of its many pink painted houses and buildings in the city. It is a beautiful city and first planned city of India. It was founded on 18 November in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. It was my first visit to this charming pink city. On this tour I saw many magnificent monuments including forts, palaces and temples. I tasted the mouthwatering cuisine prepared by Rajasthani women. I realized and could understand that the rich culture & tradition of this city represents that of Rajasthan – the royal and imperial Indian state.
When I explored the walled city area I realized that I am walking through the majestic era of former maharajahs. The walled city area is encircled by a pink wall with seven majestic gates and almost all buildings here are pained in pink. That’s why the city is called as the Pink City of India. In the walled city area I visited many magnificent monuments including Hawa Mahal ...
... (the Palace of Winds), City Palace Complex and Jantar Mantar.
I also explored famous shopping areas like Tripolia Bazaar and Johari Bazaar in the old city. I enjoyed shopping and purchase gifts for my near and dear ones. Hawa Mahal, City Palace and Jantar Mantar Observatory (world heritage site) have been star attractions of Jaipur tourism appealing tourists from all over the world. I wondered with the architectural beauty of City Palace Complex and Hawa Mahal.
I also visited famous Ramniwas Garden in Jaipur and explored its attractions. Ramniwas is a historical garden located in the heart of the city. I visited Jaipur Zoo, Bird Park and famous Albert Hall Museum (Central Museum) inside the Rambagh Garden. It was a very memorable and enjoyable experience of traveling the old walled city of Jaipur.
Apart from old walled city of Jaipur also visited other attractions of the city. I visited many other magnificent monuments such as Rambagh Palace (now converted into luxury hotel), Amber Fort, Jal Mahal, Nahargarh Fort and Jaigarh Fort. Amber Fort is located in the outskirt of the city atop a hill. I enjoy elephant ride to ascend the fort complex. I saw the marvelous view of entire city from Nahargarh Fort. It was the nice experience.
On the conclusion, I realized that Jaipur is indeed a key tourist destination of Rajasthan Tourism. On the whole, I am keen to visit Jaipur again as a part of Rajasthan Travel and tours in India. I will visit this beautiful city with my family in coming few months. Really, it was a memorable journey of my lifetime.
