Flowers are sometimes also referred to as the bloom or blossoms, the great gift of God to the mankind. All the flowers have some symbolic meaning attached to them that depicts the feeling of a person who gifted those flowers to a particular person. The symbolic meaning of flowers is especially used in western culture and the assigning meaning to these flowers is termed as floriography which is been extensively studied by florists to assist and guide the people to show their feelings towards their loved ones. As the most common example of symbolism through flowers are the red roses that show the deep love, beauty and passion between two people. Likewise other than the red roses other flowers have their own meaning other then celebrations. Such as poppies is considered as the symbol of consolation in time of death in most of the countries. In Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Canada red poppies are worn in the memory of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their beloved motherland during a war. They are versatile and long lasting and ideal to be presented on birthday ceremonies. Jasmine is the sign of admiration for a person they are gifted to when one need to tell someone that he or she is an amazing person. So many flowers are bound together to form a bouquet to be presented on any specific occasions such as wedding, get well soon, funeral flowers etc. The vast variety of delicate and beautiful flowers has also inspired the poets, especially during the romantic era that was from 18th to 19th century. Most of the poets use different flowers to associate the woman femininity. For example the most famous poet William Wordsworth’s I wondered Lonely as a Cloud and William Blake’s Ah! Sun-Flower is the masterpieces of flower symbolism. Because of the colorful, fascinating appearance of the flowers they have been a great source of amazement and inspiration for the artists as well. Many famous paintings of well-known painter are of flowers like Van Gogh’s Sun Flower series and Monet’s water lilies. The painters relate the beauty and brightness of the flower to the liveliness and cheerfulness in the life. As life of flower is not so long, so the art to freeze, dry and permanently press the flower to mould them into a three dimensional structure has become more common. This art has been developed with a boosting fame in most of the world’s parts as a mean of preservation and freshen up the memories. The dried flowers are used in jewelries and also for the interior decoration. As the dried flowers can be placed longer than the fresh flowers and they always revive the feelings of love, care and passion among the people whenever catch the eye. As Park Benjamin put it “Flowers are love’s truest language.”
