When choosing an email host, most companies prefer a large capacity inbox size and they also wish to know their email is secure, both from physical threats such as viruses and from uncontrolled sources such as server crashes or disgruntled employees hacking into the server and wiping it clean. The best types of email service providers include email archiving, high availability, including remote access for telecommuting workers and traveling employees, the most attractive technology for fresh-faced college graduates, and the freedom from hassle that a traditional in building hosted email server can provide with frequent updates, repairs and upgrades. Many companies and businesses have turned to Microsoft's business email solution.

Microsoft offers a "hosted Exchange environment" for each company. The environment offers 25 gigabytes of email storage space for each user, allowing the company or business to host email with the relative security of Microsoft. Additionally, the company or business does not manage its own server; rather, Microsoft does it for them by having a series of geographically placed servers that manage ...
... data for thousands of businesses. A dedicated team of security experts scan the servers for new viruses, threats, spam and bugs and quash them as soon as the problems are discovered; as well as auto patching the email system so the hosted company does not have the hassle of maintaining their business email. In addition, round the clock support is offered if the company wishes to speak to a live representative. And access to the hosted email box is guaranteed with mobile viewing from anywhere in the world from most mobile platforms.

By having Microsoft maintain his or her email hosting, the business or company owner saves significantly on costs. Server maintenance and updating can be expensive both in time spent and physical dollar amount. It also saves the IT department at the company some grief by allowing them to spend more time within the business rather than after servers requiring repair, upgrades or updates. With more and more workers telecommuting, companies and businesses need ways to provide accessibility for those workers and for the latest generation of recruits who are looking for the most cutting edge technology. Email is also a valuable business resource and the companies who choose not to participate may find themselves at a loss when it comes to creating effective online communication.

Microsoft Exchange appears to offer the best "bang for the buck" so to speak. With shrinking IT budgets, most companies sadly have been forced to let go of many IT employees. To save money, many companies have opted for remote email hosting services such as this being offered by Microsoft and have reported excellent customer satisfaction.
