"The Toys R Us coupons had arrived just in time, because it was almost my son's third birthday and we were looking for a perfect gift. My wife and I selected the coupons we thought were the best, and then had to deal with one more detail, before heading to the store. We had to get someone to keep an eye on our kid. We hired a babysitter and drove thirty miles to the store to buy some new gifts for our only son.

There was a lot of toys and we were undecided as to what to buy. But, we both decided that we wanted a toy that he could play on safely and not get hurt. At last, we bought on a rocking horse. It was the biggest one that they sold. The horse was well-made with hardy springs, so we thought our son could never figure out a way to injure himself with this.

Well when we got it back to the house and started wrapping it up it became quite a great task. We used two rolls of paper and stuck a roll of tape on it, so that he wouldn't be able to tell what it was. In about a thirty days time, my daring son went looking for a new way to ride his horse. One day, I watched him start rocking the bronco with all of his might. At first I was grinning watching him, then my child relaxed his grip on the handles and fell off. My son soared hard and swiftly, before smacked face first on the floor. I hurried over and scooped him up. At that moment, blood had already starting oozing from his mouth. He had bit his tongue and he was yowling as loud as he could.

I was thinking about what needed to be done next. Grabbing a towel within reach, I clamped it on his tongue. My son was mad about this, but it stopped him from bleeding. With the bleeding done, I grabbed him a Popsicle and drove him to the emergency room. I learned that if your son is a daredevil, then you have to be careful, even with safe toys."
