Recently, a friend of mine told me she had an interview of a hotel position and that job is fit for her. But one question made her hesitate-if she wanted to get this position, she had to do night shifts. She asked me whether she should accept this position. Now many positions make staff rotate shifts, they may at risk of insomnia and sleep disorder.

Firefighters, guest Service Officer, police officers, doctors, nurses, paramedics, factory workers, and office cleaning staff all must have night shifts. Although not everyone who works odd hours has shift work sleep disorder, a lot can be at stake.

When you are awake at night and asleep during the day, your body does not receive powerful biological cues from the amount of light in the environment. This causes difficulty in falling asleep and getting enough deep sleep. According to studies, experts find people who with shift work disorder have higher rates of absenteeism and accidents related to sleepiness than night workers without the disorder.

And these signs are very important to regulate the circadian rhythms that control the sleep cycle of the body and brain.

People who work night or rotating shifts seem to have a higher risk of ulcers, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and heart disease. People who work during the night and sleep during the day are more susceptible to heart diseases and even heart attacks due to their work pattern.
