LED light fixtures are used in many different places. Emergency vehicles like ambulances, tow trucks, lifeboats and patrol cars are all seen using these. LED lighting fixtures are also seen brightening exhibition halls, bars, discotheques and the interiors of well decorated homes. A lot of passenger cars, mostly SUVs are seen using LED lights in order to add to the attraction of the vehicle. Hence the use of light emitting diodes for both emergency lighting and decorative lighting purposes is seen extensively. The main reason behind the popularity of LED lights is the energy conservation. They are far more economical compared to xenon or halogen flash lamps, operating on lower voltage supply and minimal current in the circuits.

What is incredible is the amount of improvisation that has taken place in the construction and design of LED light fixtures. For example, rock lights are seen being encased in anti crush brackets which are adjustable and made for severe duty. Similarly, some of the light bars are designed with optical enhancements that can blast the beams to a distance farther ...
... than was possible until recent times. The extremes are well controllable too. For example, LEDs are used in undercover lights and stealth vehicles too which are used for covert operations. The intensity of these LED beams can be controlled depending upon the requirement. In fact, there are emergency lights with interchangeable lenses which can ensure that you can control the output of the light to suit your application as well as your necessity.

Another interesting improvisation in LED light fixtures is their mounting capability. You can easily mount them on the roof of a vehicle. The surface mounting devices can be installed on any flat surface. Moreover, you can also mount the lighting fixtures right underneath the mirror to enhance the glow. Installed with polycarbonate or fiber glass filled nylon bases, these lights are moisture resistant. The rubber grommet or compression gaskets ensure that water doesn’t get into the lights. The mounting with the help of mounting clips and brackets allows you to install these lighting fixtures on vehicles in any angle depending upon your requirement. The lights are extremely resistant to vibration and even high impact, allowing for rugged use.

The improvisation of LED light fixtures also lies in enhancing the ability of these lights to attract attention. The use of colored filters allows you to flash red, blue, green and amber lights in all directions, has spiced it up even more. A simple cigarette plug or push button switch can help in turning the lights on or off. Moreover, a controller box can be used to flash the light emitting diodes alternately in a pattern. Many LED lighting fixtures come with in-built flashing patterns which can be changed with ease from the controller box. The LEDs can be made to blink or flash at exceptionally fast pace, sometimes at more than 100 flashings per minute. This versatility is what adds to the popularity of these lights and their use along with sirens in emergency, construction, service and commercial vehicles.
