The Truth About Electronic Cigarettes
As with cigarettes, smokeless cigarettes have had a lot of bad press recently. Is this justified we ask? Let’s look at the facts before we come to a decision as there are a lot of claims out there that rightly or wrong scare people from purchasing such items.
They are not any healthier than regular cigarettes
The electronic cigarette is vapor and does not contain tar or indeed the 100's or 1000's of other chemicals present in regular cigarettes. Although the nicotine liquid does contain nicotine, this is not the main cause of cancer. It is the tar present in regular cigarettes that are so lethal. Nicotine is in fact a stimulant and is similar to caffeine.
Electronic cigarettes contain chemicals present in anti-freeze
Well this is partly true. There has been found to be a tiny amount of propylene glycol which is indeed present in anti-freeze. However there is less than 1% present in the nicotine solution used by electronic cigarettes, and so it is not at toxic levels to humans. In fact, propylene glycol is available in different grades including ‘pharmaceutical ...
... propylene glycol’, ‘industrial grade propylene glycol’, and even ‘food grade propylene glycol’. Propylene glycol is even present in snow cones which most of us let our children have so it seems bizarre to turn our back on smokeless cigarettes for this reason when there are very dangerous chemicals present in real cigarettes!
Electronic cigarettes are being sold and marketed to children
It is true that there are a variety of flavors available, some of which may appeal to children. There are various alcohol companies that sell vodka in sweet and candy flavors and they are certainly not banned or avoided for this reason! Most electronic cigarette sellers are quite careful as to who buy their products and how old they are. The smokeless cigarettes are for the most part being sold in the same way that normal cigarettes are being sold – to people who are legally allowed to smoke.
Electronic cigarettes are banned
There is no ban on smokeless cigarettes. In fact, the FDA are soon due to begin regulating the product in an attempt to prevent ‘shady’ companies from selling the product. There are still anti-smoking groups out there who do not see the benefits of the smokeless cigarettes and are trying to prevent this from happening. However they have little evidence of its harmful properties so will inevitably fail.
Electronic cigarettes will make you quit smoking
The will not ‘make’ you quit smoking, but they will encourage you to participate in a smoking-like activity that isn’t as harmful to your health. Electronic cigarettes are an easy transition from smoking as they mimic the behavior of normal cigarettes (hand to mouth action) whilst enjoying the effects of the nicotine but without the harmful effects of other carcinogens found in regular cigarettes.
Where can I buy such smokeless cigarettes?
Look no further than. They are reputable sellers of smokeless cigarettes that are sure to have you coming back for more!
