A long time ago, on the side of a river, a small crab was born. Then it only has two feet. Faced with this new world, the crab was curious about everything.

It came to the beach, walking with its two feet up and down happily. It encountered a tortoise, and just wanted to say hello. But the tortoise was extremely bad. It stretched out its long neck and pushed the crab down. The crab got up to chase the tortoise. However, it only had two feet, being not able to catch up with the four-legged tortoise. The crab was very angry and then stopped to rest under a tree.

At this moment, a centipede came. The crab found that the centipede’s body was actually covered with feet. And when the centipede passed, one of its feet accidentally touched the crab and then the venom stabbed, which the crab cannot stand. The crab quitted, repeatedly begging God to give it more than a few feet. God said: “I can only meet one requirement of you. You may think carefully and do not regret. The crab thought: “eight” is our favorite lucky number, and then I’ll ask for eight legs, so that I won’t be bullied by others. God agreed ...
... to its demands.

The next day, when the crab woke up early in the morning, it happily found that it really had eight legs. It was too excited. But soon he became dismayed because it found that it could not walk. As its legs suddenly increased, when it moved forward, it could not make those feet walk forward in concert but crossed them together like fighting, which attracted a large number of bystanders to laugh at. This time, it regretted very much, but could not change everything at present. After hard exploring for a period, it finally came up with a way: since I cannot walk straight, then I’ll go sideways. Soon, the crab walking sideways became unique scenery in the eyes of everyone.

From this story, we can learn that we should not think of envying other but should be satisfied with what we have possessed; once facing facts that cannot be changed, we should face up bravely and try to innovate, thus there will be new way.
