Islam is not a religion in some cases but a political movement designed to take over the world and create one where Islam is the ruling power. Political Islam has infiltrated many aspects of western culture as many countries in the west bend over backwards to see to it that they do not offend those who hold Islamic beliefs. Unfortunately, those same countries are doing what they can to dispel the beliefs of other religions, particularly Christianity which is seen as a very powerful religion and which has also enjoyed a vast political influence, particularly in the United States.

Where other countries, especially those in Europe, are more secular in their beliefs, this is not the case in the United States where laws have been created throughout history to cater to Christian beliefs. Many of these laws are good, such as those against murder and theft. Many of them are targeted against vices, however, such as drinking, drugs, gambling and sex vices. For 13 years in the United States in the last century, the law of the land was prohibition which made alcohol illegal. This was promoted by some Christian religious groups ...
... and sponsored by Andrew Volstead who created the Volstead Act that was adopted as the 18th amendment - prohibition. This measure gave rise to the underworld throughout the country that made money on making and distributing illegal liquor. Those who followed Volstead felt that it was their duty for the government to legislate morality among the masses.

Political Islam today is doing the same thing. They are trying to enact Sharia Law in some parts of the western world as this is already the law of the land in many Muslim countries. Because there are so many Muslims in other parts of the world, namely the west that enjoys various freedoms that are prohibited in Islam, many see this as more of a political movement and feel that Islam is not a religion but a political drive for power among the masses.

While many fear the idea of terrorist attacks done in the name of Islam, as well as murders of those who have attacked the religion, there are other factors at play. Laws are being created to promote Islamic thinking in many western countries. These are making it more of a political tool that is designed to promote a cause in the name of a religion and install laws that are contrary to what people currently enjoy in the west.
There are many people concerned of the political nature of Islam as well as the spread to various areas throughout the world. Most of those in the west do not want to live within the confines of Sharia Law, although they do not care if others wish to do so. They just want to be able to live their lives as they have been doing and do not want change. However, the nature of politics is to give to the masses in order to get the vote, which has many people concerned about how far any government will go in order to retain power and control in any given country, even if it means catering to those who wish to take away freedoms.
