Enterprise Architecture
Many large and renowned organizations have adopted TOGAF, but may people still ask the question “What is TOGAF and why use TOGAF
Large enterprises face many challenges, as they grow and mutate over time their systems they rely on become fragmented and disjointed. The processes often underperform, are slow and inefficient. As the enterprise grows there is often a clear lack of focus and vision.
Business faces the problem of enterprise operations and employee’s ways of working are constantly changing and there are different demands. Enterprises now need closer engagement with suppliers, customers and increased visibility of their competitor’s activities.
TOGAF can help. TOGAF provides a comprehensive framework – including processes, guidelines and techniques, ways of managing both long term strategic and operation plans, reusable solutions which are in tune with the business needs. These are recognized within industry and the maturity of the content has improved and matured over time.
TOGAF can therefore reduce business time to market, cut design and productivity issues, manage risks more effectively ...
... and give the business a clearer visibility of the business operating performance. Coupled with these benefits are improved solutions now available enabling a mobile work force to collaborate globally with unified goals and vision. These solutions and designs are also developed so that they can be reused and reformed into multiple implementations based on individual division’s needs and requirements. This reuse is a crucial part of TOGAF as it optimizes solutions at reduced costs and also minimizes development effort and reduces time wastage through unnecessary redesign.
TOGAF
One of the methods to develop the implementation of business solutions, as said in the architectural framework of TOGAF, is to develop an architectural vision which is a portrayal of the company that conveys the long term business roadmap with the desired solutions. Once this vision is agreed and implicit, a set of transitional steps are made which illustrates the procedure of altering from the current circumstances to the final targeted one. These steps are named as transitional architectures by the TOGAF. Related methods have been portrayed in the other frameworks of enterprise architectures.
The people who practice EA call themselves as enterprise architects. The enterprise architect is one person who is responsible for the development of the enterprise architecture and is frequently called on to bring about the conclusions from the obtained results. By making enterprise architecture, the architects are giving a tool to identify the opportunities for improving the enterprise, in such a way that more efficiently and effectively follows its purpose.
