Ambica is very nostalgic to sit and look back at the tremendous growth achieved over last 38 years. Ambica Steels Ltd was founded in 1970 as a small foundry, with a small electric arc furnace of 1 ton and an installed annual capacity of 4,000 tons. It mainly catered domestic market with workforce of 50 people. But the Vision to become a leading speciality steel producer transpired the sense of Quality & Commitments to be a truly global company.

Ambica was re-established in 1995 and a new era in company history began. A family business for 3 generations, is now a complete integrated plant with all stainless steel manufacturing facilities – starting from Electric melting furnace of 25 tons, Refining through AOD Convertor and Ladle refining furnace (LRF), Continuous Billet Caster with M-EMS, Ingot caster, Hot Rolling Mills, Heat Treatment Facilities (like Solution Annealing, Hardening & tempering along with water and oil quenching facilities) and special product divisions for Bright Bars, Angles and Flat bars.

Ambica’s Quality standards are tougher than steel. With state of the art technologies, process and facilities, highest quality by stringent international standards has been adopted to assess products at every stage of production. Ambica has TUV certification like ISO-9001:2000, AD2000WO/TRD 100, PED-97/23/EC resulting in perfectly documented work procedures. It integrated SHEQ – Safety, Health, Environment and Quality – management system which has been in operations since several years.

Ambica is proud to be one of the first stainless steel mills in India to successfully implement the environmental management system (EMS) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001, in 2003. Our environment protection efforts are concentrated largely in two areas, reduced emission of chemicals within the environment and ensuring stringent use and supply of radioactive free material.
