For students, appearing in entrance exams, it is a bit of stress. And when these exams are related to professional courses, then the stakes are high and hence are the expectations. In such entrance exams, the students go through a lot of psychological pressure owing to the high level of competition. For the students, a single exam, where a lot of colleges are involved, is also of another benefit. With many colleges coming under the ambit of a single umbrella exam, the total number of seats for which the test is being conducted is also increased significantly. One can secure a seat in a medical college, even if he or she has a rank towards the lower end. For the organising agencies, CBSE for the PMT exam, the advantage that beholds is the cost cutting, where the expenditure for conducting one exam is quite less than what would have been required for the different exams.

With advantages galore for both the students and the organising bodies, it is a matter of changing the perception and reducing the burden of the students. The pre-medical test in the coming years is ready for an overhaul and students would be accepting the changes with open mind and arms.
