All of Bushnell's products collect and then amplify the light that is present through the objective lens on it. This lens is then focused on to the image intensifier and inside this is a photocathode. When the light hits the photocathode it converts the photon energy produced into electrons and these then pass across an electrostatic field at high speed which is to be found in the image intensifier.

The electrons then hit a phosphor screen which then produces an image which the user of the product can see. The image they have in front of them produces a picture similar to what you would see on a green monochrome TV screen.
