Include A Map In Your Travel Brochures

When people travel to other places, you expect them to be strangers, not knowing their way around. That is why when you see a person walking around looking lost while reading a map, you would certainly know that is a tourist or someone new in the place. It is really awkward looking at them carrying a map on one hand while clutching brochures under one arm. So if you are in-charge of the brochure printing project for your agency, your city, or province, do these visitors a favor—include a map. It does not have to be the whole province, but maybe the central part of your place.
Most of the time, people research the place that they are going to visit on the internet. Or they buy books about them. But when they get to their destination, they would go to the visitors counter at the airport and grab some brochures. When they get to the hotel, they will study the reading materials and decide where they want to eat or probably get a massage. Then they will have to refer to a map in order to find it. Or they could get hold of those big maps that contain a lot of information about the city but they could not find instructions ...
... on how to get there. So they consult a separate map.
This situation is only good if they are already in their hotel rooms. But let’s say, if they want to go out at night and visit a bar that was featured in a brochure and they couldn’t find it, they will have to open their map. And since it is nighttime, they will have to go to a lighted area to see the print. But if the information and the map are put together in one pamphlet, it would be easier to make the search for the location while they identify where they would want to go.
You may need to produce a bigger brochure for this purpose. While most pamphlets are made from a piece of short size paper and folded into three, you could double this size and use a big portion of it for the map. The map could occupy three panels, depending on the amount of other information that you would like to include.
The vicinity map does not necessarily have to encompass the whole city. You could hire an artist who can do a rendition of a map where the downtown area and the tourist spots are highlighted. That way, you will maximize the map to showcase the location of the main attractions in the city. Those areas or streets that have nothing to offer tourists should stay in the sidelines because your locale will not earn from them.
In your map, you can probably use big arrows or balloons or clouds with arrows that point to the place of interest. Or you can put big numbers in the map and make a legend at the side that enumerates what these places and their specific locations.
This may be a tedious thing to do but this will make your travel brochures very useful to visitors in your place. And these will surely promote the different areas in the city that are interesting but are often missed out because of lack of proper directions. Do your city a favor by adding a specialized tourist map during your next brochure printing.
