The Different Kinds Of Cycle Pumps For Cyclists

Let us say you were doing your weekly mountain bike ride along the nearby cycling track. Then, you suddenly realized that the tires are already soft and it is affecting your biking. Any good cyclist should have a bicycle pump. It is one of the most important tools that you could ever include in your kit when riding any kind of bike.
The cycle pump can inflate any tire. For a cyclist, it is crucial to have 2 kinds of pumps. First is a portable one that can be carried and used when emergencies arise. Another one should be safely stored at the garage or generally at home. Identifying the right kind of pump is crucial especially if you are a professional cyclist. You do not want poor quality pumps for your bikes. Remember, a bad tire can affect the performance of any cyclist. If something happens, you must be able to easily inflate the tires and add pressure to it. In purchasing the pumps, there are numerous considerations.
The valves
before using the pump, you need to have the right valve to fit the tire. There are different kinds of valves. There is the Schrader which is similar to the ones used in cars. There ...
... is also the presta which is slender and long. There are pumps that only use a specific valve head. Other pumps have interchangeable heads. It would be best to get ones with interchangeable valves so that you can offer the pump to someone if they happen to have a bad tire and they need a different valve.
The floor pump
If you want a pump that can be easily used at home, then the one with a metal floor pump is ideal. These are quite long and they are very classic. You step on the metal pieces to secure the pump. You push the pumping mechanism up and down in order to apply air and pressure to the tire. It is a classic option. You can also use the ones that are cranked using your feet. You can adjust the pressure before starting to push the crank with your feet.
For the road, the frame pump is an ideal option. They are very compact and they are named as such to fit in to the frame of the pump without any issues. Since they are smaller, they tend to be slower in filling the tire with air and pressure compared to the regular size pumps. Another option for road use is the mini pump. They are very small and it takes longer to fill air but if you do not have any space to use a frame pump, then this is a good option. The CO2 inflators are very popular since they are fast and easy to use. However, you should have a backup inflator or a frame pump. Once you finished using one, it is over.
