A group of popular poker calculators that can calculate poker odds in real time while playing online are known as the Indicator range of poker calculators. In this article, I want to mention some of the main features of these calculators and also talk about each of the main calculators in a bit of detail.

There are currently four main models of these calculators. These include Holdem Indicator for Texas Holdem cash games, Tournament Indicator for Holdem tournaments and sit and gos, Omaha Indicator is a calculator designed specifically for Omaha Hi and Omaha Hi-Lo games while Stud Indicator is designed for 7 card stud games.

Some of the common features of all of these calculators are their real-time poker odds, player stats and opponent profiling features.

Lets have a look at each of the features in a bit more detail:

Real Time Poker Odds: Each of these calculators provide a range of poker odds presented in real time for their respective games while you play online. These odds include your win odds, that is the odds that you will hold the best hand at the river, your pot odds, or how much you need ...
... to call relative to the size of the pot and various draw odds. These draw odds provide the odds that you will draw to different hand types by the river. For example, you can see the odds that you will draw to say a full house or a flush by the river. These odds are fundamental to this range of calculators and are present in all of the above mentioned models.

Player Stats: As well as presenting real time odds, each of these calculators will observe your opponents game play and collate statistics on their game. Such statistics include things such as how often a player voluntarily puts money into the pot, indicating how lose or tight they are, how often a player will raise pre flop, or how often a player will put in a continuation bet on the flop if that player raised pre-flop.

These stats are useful to get an overall indication of how your opponents play. It allows you to instantly see information such as how loose or tight a player is or how passive or aggressive a player is.

Opponent profiling: As well as collecting stats on your opponents these calculators will use these stats to profile your opponents into one of a number of types of players. A player may be profiled as various player types such as a loose aggressive gambler, a calling station, a tight aggressive or a tight, passive rock. By profiling your opponents like this, the calculator allows you to quickly identify the type of player you are facing at a glance.

These features are common to all the Indicator poker calculators for their respective games. Let's now take a look at some of the specific calculators that implement these features:

Holdem Indicator is a calculator designed specifically for Texas Holdem cash games. It will provide the above mentioned features for a Holdem cash game.

Tournament Indicator is designed for Texas Holdem Tournaments and Sit and Go's. As well as providing the features above, the calculator also provides tournament specific MZone information. This is basically how deep stacked you and your opponents are relative to the blinds and antes. This stack size info is crucial to successful tournament play where your can be fighting for survival as a short stack or dominating the table as a deep stack.

Omaha Indicator is designed for Omaha Hi and Omaha Hi-Lo games. It provides all of the above features for Omaha poker. Additionally, in Omaha Hi-Lo, the pot is often split between the High winner and the Low winner. The calculator will simultaneously present odds for your chance of winning either the Hi or the Low side of the round.

Stud Indicator is designed for 7 card stud games. Similar to Omaha Indicator, this calculator will allow you to see the odds for both the Low and the Hi side of the pot.

I hope this has given a good overview of the indicator range of poker calculators.
