Board games were invented for the entertainment of people when there was no other source of entertainment for people. However, slowly and gradually when the other forms of entertainment came the board games started losing their popularity. Earlier, these games were for all age groups; there was no defined age group for these games, but as time passed and new inventions were done, these games came out with the specified age groups. These games were the family games and generally, people use to play these games before or after meals. Even though the board games have lost the popularity, which they use to have, then also these games holds the interest of people in the game.
There are a lot of variety games available in the market like chess, monopoly, scrabble, Ludo, snakes & ladders, etc. These are the examples of best selling games . Monopoly was the most famous and highly sold game in those days and even today, it holds a lot of interest among the people. It is purely a family game as this game can be played by four to six people at a time. Monopoly is a ...
... business game, which holds the inquisitiveness of people playing this until the end of the game.
The board games were taken over by multimedia games after the invention of television and video games. Video games started the new era of games and they totally destroyed the importance of board games. Kids started getting fond of video games as the animated figures on the television started to excite them, which were totally in their control via remote devices. Video games got very famous rapidly but later on people understood the faults of such games, such as the children started losing their eyesight as most of the time in a day they were spending in front of television playing video games. Video games also started to make children aggressive and destructive as many games were fighting games.
No matter, how much time passes, the board games will never lose their importance. However, they may not have the same popularity, but they still hold the interest of people. Most of the people like to prepare strategy to defeat their opponent in these games, which helps in the functioning of the brain. Board games helps in improving the brain functioning and keep it strong and aware. Board games can never lose their popularity as they have not lost it until now.
