With the growing need of enhancing the beauty and trying to look younger women try out on all possible beauty enhancing surgeries that are available in the market may it be for facial transformations or may it be of shaping and toning their body to get the right shape according to them that they wish for. Tummy tuck is such surgery that helps to bring in the right curve to the body.

Also known as abdominoplasty, a tummy tuck removes excess fat and skin, and in most cases restores weakened or separated muscles creating an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer. No matter how many crunches and diets that you can do, you can never remove loose skin and fat hanging on your midsection. Especially for those who have undergone rapid weight loss as well as pregnancy, the skin's natural elasticity has been stretched to its limits resulting to your midsection to look unappealing and all the work you have done to have a perfect body is ruined. A flat and well-toned abdomen is something many of us strive for and that is time abdominoplasty come into the picture to flatten the belly and reveal your true body.

If one ...
... has determined to undergo the surgery then before the surgery could take place the surgeon will have the patient undergo certain laboratory tests. This is a standard procedure to determine the safety and health condition of the patient before undergoing the procedure. The patient has to be open to the doctor and let him know if he or she is taking medications. Adjustments or total cessation from drugs might be demanded by the doctor since it could result to adverse effects. Certain precautions have to be taken and there would arise certain restriction to be followed for the surgery to be performed positively.

Likewise, after the surgery the patient will be clinically taken care so as to not get infected and would be observed if the surgery hasn’t got any adverse effect on the body to be on the safer end. The patient will have a bandage on his or her abdominal area and extends just around the pelvic area where the incision was made. In some cases, a tube will be placed to prevent the accumulation of fluids inside. Depending on the surgical procedure, the patient might return to the doctor to have the stitches removed but for less invasive ones, the sutures used will probably be those that will dissolve and fade away in time so that they don’t have to visit the doctor again.

Recovery would take at least few days as the areas would feel weak and for the first week, you will definitely not be able to stand up or move comfortably. Do not stretch your body as yet or give pressure on the abdomen by lifting anything heavy or perform anything that the doctor did not say since it could result to bleeding and problems. The overall recovery can reach to a month. Any strenuous activities should be avoided and light exercises might be done after 3 weeks. It all depends on the kind of procedure done and how well you recover.
