Allied Brand’s retail management division has acquired the four Victorian Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf stores of Bennett Investment with $150, 000of its own cash.
The stores will form part of Allied Brand’s Franchise Services Division that was established in December 2009. They will be rebranded as Villa and Hut stores and franchised over a six month period.
Villa Hut has 16 outlets in Victoria as well as its headquarters . Allied brands acquired the Villa and Hut homewares and café chain in June 2009 for $2.8 million.
As a result of this a the acquisition of the Freedom/Bay Swiss (Stainhoff)stores, Allied Brand chief executive Shane Radbone he expected Villa and Hut to have 50 stores nationally at the end of ths financial year.
Mr. Radbone, who was appointed in March last year and also take up the managing director role this quarter, said the latest investment would add coffee production in the Allied centralized manufacturing facility.
“The acquisition is a perfect addition to the Villa and Hut growth plans,” Mr. Radbone said.

... to rebadged and franchise the stores to individual franchisees and sell as Villa and Hut franchised stores. The sale price for the stores is expected to be at least $200,000 each. They will also provide annual royalty and product supply income to the Retail Management Division.
Villa and Hut chief executive Franz Madlener said the franchisor sold 80 percent of its stires within four months after acquiring Villa and Hut in mid-2009.
