Old Freelancing Site V/s New Freelancing Sites

There are various well established sites to find freelance projects. Making a choice becomes difficult. A good strategy is to register on a 3-4 different sites. Select a mix of couple of established sites and a few new sites. Established sites offer good choice of freelancers. Nevertheless, newer sites want to grab the customers, they provide you with personal attention and good customer service. The quality of the freelancers is more or less the same in both places, but the bid for projects is cheaper on newer sites as the freelancers are still 0trying to build a rating here.

New Freelancing sites

1. They present newer features
2. They have lower traffic and therefore, can handle clients better
3. Can run into technical errors
4. Chances of bagging a project is better as the competition among vendors is low
5. Dispute handling is efficient
6. New freelancers/vendors can build up their ratings at a new site as the competition is new too.
7. New sites have lower fees or are free
8. Cheaper bid for projects

2. They have high traffic and cannot give personal attention to customers
3. Robust and reliable on basic services
4. Highly competitive sites, tough to win projects
5. Poor dispute handling services
6. New vendors appear to be with low history as opposed to established freelancers
7. Higher fees
8. Since the good freelancers already have a reputation the older sites, they put higher bid for projects
