Management Summary Of It Maintenance
Introduction
Clients do not normally have an in house IT team as their IT requirements are minimal but considered highly critical. This project is to realise a infrastructure and protection of said infrastructure from an operational and business continuity perspective by Network Maintenance. This proposal displays the requirements and solution option that is fit for purpose with Computer Maintenance.
Purpose
For the purposes of this proposal a green field deployment is assumed and then followed by Computer Maintenance. Due to the fact that the information that has been supplied is of a high level nature the solution is based upon this understanding of these high level requirements and proposed data centre infrastructure.
This document lays out the best-practice high-level solution for this project as currently understood.
It should be noted that due to the high-level nature of this document that only an initial level of detail will be covered and any quotes will be based on this high level understanding.
We have had to make any assumptions, caveats or exclusions these are explicitly ...
... stated within this document. Due to the fact that the current clients IT infrastructure cannot be ascertained to a detailed level or relevant information has not been provided; any assumptions made are highlighted in green, any unknown information is highlighted in red and any high level recommendations are highlighted in yellow.
Future State Proposal Summary
The high level server, storage and networking proposal is that at the Site 1 site a performant server be used that has been provisioned with network attached storage (NAS). These appliances (server and storage) will be duplicated at the Site 2 site and through storage snapshots the Site 1 servers virtualised guests will be duplicated to the Site 2 storage appliance and provisioned to the server at Site 2. This will secure the storage for the physical host servers’ storage that hosts the various virtual servers (email, Sage 50 and barcode labeller\reader). Thus, in the event of disaster the Site 2 server will automatically become the production server that will allow business to continue which will be monitored via Network Maintenance.
Details of this solution can be found in the Solution Overview section of this document.
The solution have been costed up and displayed on a solution by solution basis, detailed information of these costs can be found in the Costs section.
Data Growth
The data estate has been stated as 500GB and this data requires protecting. It has been confirmed that the expected change rates are not inline with industry standards (6% – 8%) a very small change rate of 0.5% will be used in all data growth analysis. Thus the sustained yearly
