Air pollution is becoming a problem in homes these days and is a common cause of asthma and allergies. Fortunately there are air purifiers that can clean household air and make it safe for the household members to inhale. They are usually attached to a home’s HVAC.

There are many kinds of air purifiers, usually designed for the industry they are serving. Industrial air purifiers, apart from cleaning up the air of usual pollutants like dust and pollen, can actually clean the air of oil and mist. For the hospitality industry, the air purifiers there can actually clean the air of cigarette smoke. Home purifiers on the other hand can get rid of smells produced by cooking, wood burning and cigarette smoking. The primary reason for air pollution at home or in the office is usually poor ventilation. Hair sprays and bug sprays also contribute to domestic air pollution.

A good air purifier should get rid of 99.97% of particles that are suspended in the air. Using an air purifier with a filter should get this done. This method of cleaning the air usually relies on the size of the filter holes the air flows through ...
... in order to be cleaned. The air purifier with filters should be arranged in a manner that the air going into it flows easily without blocks. In dusty areas, the air purifier may have two filters, one acting as a pre-filter and the other as a final filter.

When buying an air purifier unit, check for its efficiency rating. Also find out the air handling capacity of the unit. The most common mistake people make is choosing an air purifier with a small capacity and putting it in a large room that requires a larger capacity for cleaning its air.

Air purifier filters should be changed from time to time, depending on the need and the amount of pollutants in a room. There are two kinds of air filters: MERV and HEPA. MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value, and HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. HEPA air purifier filters do not generate ozone products and are greener in nature. The MERV filters are more effective than HEPA filters when capturing smaller particles. However, they are mostly installed without airtight seals and cause the particles to leak.

If you feel uncomfortable choosing an air purifier filter yourself, most heating & air conditioning contractors can offer advice. Many contractors do home assessments and give free estimates in addition to performing heating and cooling repair. Finding the right air purifier and filter for your home is simple if you do the research and ask lots of questions. Installing an air purifier is relatively inexpensive and can be a great way to keep the air in your home pure and clean. For more information to visit us http://www.superiormechanicalinc.com
