Legionnaires Disease is a form of pneumonia that can affect anybody at any time. It is caused by bacterium Legionella Pneumophila and related bacteria. The infection itself may also cause less serious illness that, although not fatal or permanently debilitating may still affect all different types of people regardless of age or health.

Legionella risk assessments are vital in the control and prevention of Legionnaires Disease. In 2001 The Health and Safety Commission released their latest ACOP(L8) which controlled the legionnaire bacteria in water systems.

The Legionnaire risk assessments carried out by Amphibia ACOP (L8) is enforced under the Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974 and COSHH Regulations of 199. These regulations replaced the previous HSC ACOP L8 and associated HSE HS(G)70 guidelines. These regulations affect all employers and those responsible for water systems on their premises.

As part of the complete Legionella risk assessments employers and those responsible for the water systems in premises must, firstly identify and assess the sources of risk, prepare a written scheme for preventing ...
... or controlling the risk, implement, manage and monitor precautions, appoint a person to be managerially responsible and have adequate training and resources also.

The new generation Legionella risk assessments are exclusive to Amphibia. They demonstrate colour system drawings provided on CD ROM, which is exclusive to Amphibia. Each report is presented in person by the consultant who carried out the Legionella risk assessments, and perhaps most importantly, this service offers no hidden costs.

The goal of each of our Legionella risk assessments is simple: to identify and evaluate sources of risk and to compile a written scheme for controlling the disease. It is also important to note that in order to adhere to the requirements of the ACOP (L8) legionnaires risk assessments should be reviewed every twenty four months.
