Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary is located at a distance of 40 km from Thodupuzha, which also known as the National Park Eravikulam. This wildlife sanctuary spreads an area of certain sq km from Thodupuzha and Idukki to Udumpanchola area. Elephant and Dear is a very special attraction of this sanctuary. By train: The nearest station is Thalassery. Idukki is situated at a distance of about 35 kilometers from the railway and the sanctuary can also be achieved through the Ernakulam railway station.

By air: Calicut Airport is the only near airport located 113kms away from the sanctuary. Private taxis can be hired for the train station or airport.
