Management involves securing the data from various threats like computer crashes and system compromises like malware and hacking. On top of that, the data is also made consistent for all users. Aside from directly controlling data security, the jobs also require control over other user identities and how they use the data. One popular job in this industry is becoming a database manager and he /she works closely with IT experts and programmers.

The task is to keep the database in good condition, preventing any system glitches that could cause big problems in the organization. Therefore, the manager needs to be always ready for emergencies and be on call all the time. Sometimes, weekends are also spent working on the database.

Consultation jobs are also possible in IT companies as well as bigger corporate environments. As you can see, there is a wide range of career options for this industry and therefore, it is necessary to have considerable experience, education and training to improve job options available for the manager.
