Contrary to popular belief, Tibet's climate is not nearly as harsh as people make it out to be. This belief stems from the fact that Tibet is a plateau, at a high elevation. Many people fear the high altitude, thin air and cooler climate. These conditions can negatively affect one's health, leading to Acute Mountain Sickness, unless of course you take the proper precautions beforehand. AMS is a result of combining reduced air pressure and lower oxygen levels. However, with the proper guidance, a trip to Tibet can be the absolute most wonderful excursion on which you will embark.

Like any destination, Tibet has certain seasons that are better for traveling than others. April to November is the allotted frame for most foreign travelers. According to many sources, August and September are the two busiest travel months in Tibet. If the sole destination of your trip is Lhasa, which is a year round attraction, then the time frame of your trip becomes a less important factor.

Rainy season in Tibet lasts from June to September. Because of this, it is also during this time that the scenery is at its most breathtaking. ...
... Lush green pastures, misty mornings, and the fresh scents of nature envelop your senses. You can see crops, at different levels of maturity, Yaks grazing, and hear the beautiful bird songs that assist the sun in beginning your day. Quite a few travelers that do not visit Tibet for the purpose of pilgrimage visit for the sake of the scenery. Attractions such as Lake Yamdrok and Mount Everest have had tourists since Tibet became prominent in the global tourism industry. The rich culture, the untouched nature, the religious significance, all makes Tibet a wonderful place to visit.

In this magical place there is something for everyone. From rafting, to biking, to culture tours this place has it all. This is a place that you do not want to miss!
