How Solar Kits Can Provide The Power You Need – For Free
As solar power systems have become standardized in recent years, their components can more easily be mixed and matched together to build the perfect system for your home. In fact, many of these solutions are now being offered as solar kits that include the solar panels, solar inverter and controller to allow the average homeowner to get started with solar power at a very reasonable cost. These solar kits are usually divided into one of three main categories and are either considered to be a grid tied system, auxiliary system or a portable system. Each of these is designed to use the sun as a free power source and built to allow you to generate free power for a wide variety of needs.
The advantage to any solar power kit is that it reduces the cost of a solar power solution since you are providing the labor yourself for its installation. In most solar power systems the cost of installation can be almost as much as the cost of the equipment. By doing the work yourself you can either install a larger system on a smaller budget or put the savings back in your pocket and ...
... enjoy the free power your new systems provides.
The simplest type of solar kit is designed to be a totally portable solution that allows you to easily generate free power wherever there is adequate sunlight. These Solar kits range in size from smaller units that are used to charge phones and other portable electronics to larger ones used on boats and campers. Portable solar kits tend to be very compact and may actually house the solar panel, solar power inverter and power outlet in a single case. The key differentiator for this type of system is that it can be easily moved from location to location with minimal setup. These types of portable solar kits provide an easy way to power your gear no matter where you are and do a great job of supplying all the power you may need while on the go.
A more sophisticated type of solar power solution is one that is used as an auxiliary power source. These types of solar kits have a permanent installation on a home or camper but operate independently from any other utility supplied power. In some cases they may actually be the primary power source for a home that is located in areas that don’t have access to utility supplied power. This type of solution requires some installation work that can usually be done by the homeowner. Since the power these solar kits provide never touches another power source, even the wiring can be done by the homeowner in many areas. The only exception to this rule is when one of these systems is used in place of an emergency generator to supply power to a home during an emergency. Since this type of system needs to interact with the primary power source to detect its loss, the final wiring of the system should be done by a qualified electrician.
The most complex type of solar power kit is one used on a home to provide the main power and is grid connected. These solar kits are designed to be used for the home’s power needs during the day and then switch to utility supplied power in the evenings. This allows a homeowner to reduce the amount of power they need to purchase each month by only buying power in the evenings for their home. Even though the final connections for these solar kits need to be done by an electrician, most of the other installation tasks can be done by the homeowner to save substantial money on the final cost of their system.
